Training Chrysalides – Creating the Future
From April 14th to July 7th , 2010
This project aims at a strong professionnal training for the dancers from Africa and the African Diaspora. The training explores the huge wealth of the patrimonial dances and uses various techniques of African and Western contemporary dances. The dancers receive tools that will feed the process of choreographic creation with a new writing and language.
The training welcomed 43 dancers from 24 countries of Africa and the African Diaspora.
Among them, about twenty were a part of the CHRYSALIDES program.

Workshop of transmission with GERMAINE ACOGNY
January 11th - February 27th, 2010
The transmission Workshop of the Modern African dance technique of Germaine Acogny, recognized all over the world, has brought together 17 dancers from Africa and the whole world during 7 weeks.
The specificity of this training is to improve the participants, all former trainees of the Ecole des Sables, on the contemporary dance technique elaborated by the choreographer Germaine Acogny, so that they can use it in return in their educational work to open up and develop their personal choreographic language in their countries.
The transmission takes place during several steps and the next session with the same dancers is planned for January, 2011.
